Code of Conduct
To enhance everyone's enjoyment, build a great community, and maintain a fun and safe environment, The Sanctum requires acceptance and application of the following policies, actions, and behaviors while at the store:
KEEP IT FUN
After all, it’s why we’re here!
BE RESPECTFUL
Our community hails from all walks of life and lifestyles. We expect everyone to treat others with respect, tolerance, and understanding. Discrimination, harassment, violence, or threatening behavior will not be tolerated.
SPORTSMANSHIP MATTERS
Winning or losing with grace is vital to the enjoyment of any game. Demeaning, disrespectful comments or actions before, during, or after a game indicate poor sportsmanship and will not be tolerated.
LANGUAGE AND CONTENT
Keep it clean and polite. This is a public space and young ears may be listening.
OUTSIDE PROVISIONS
If not excessive, bringing in food and beverages into The Sanctum is allowed. Food must be handled with care and the gaming area cleaned up for the next group. No alcohol or illegal drugs are permitted on premises.
GOOD HYGIENE
If you haven’t taken a shower or washed your clothes in a while and it’s disturbing others, we may quietly ask you to freshen up.
PROPER ATTIRE
Wearing of obscene, demeaning, or overly revealing attire is not allowed. A shirt and shoes are required.
BEHAVE
Horseplay of any kind (running, hitting, mock fighting, etc.) is not tolerated.
SUPERVISE CHILDREN
Ages 13 and under must be supervised by an adult. Children admitted to the gaming area must be directly supervised by their paying adult (i.e. at least one adult must be playing or sitting with the children).
NO WEAPONS
The Sanctum prohibits the carrying of open or concealed weapons by all persons other than law enforcement officers and staff.
USE INSIDE VOICES
We know you're having fun. Everyone else is trying to as well.
EXCESSIVE LOITERING
The Sanctum Staff enjoys interacting with our community. However, please be mindful that The Sanctum’s Staff must also be free to engage other customers and perform necessary tasks.
OBEY WHEATON’S LAW
If you don’t know it, please look it up.
The Fine Print
The Sanctum reserves the right to ask anyone to leave at any time and may, at our sole discretion, prohibit you from visiting the store or future events should you violate any portion of the Code of Conduct.
Participation in our events may result in your photograph or a video being taken for promotion on The Sanctum’s website, social media, and literature. By participating in our events you are agreeing to let your image be used as described above.
Conducting any other business on The Sanctum’s property without the express permission in writing from The Sanctum Staff is disrespectful of the community and business of The Sanctum. This includes the promotion of, buying or selling of cards, games or other items including any form of purchase or sales and event promotion for any other venue. Doing so without express written permission is strictly prohibited and grounds for expulsion from any event and/or denial of entry for any and all future events at the sole discretion of The Sanctum’s staff.
If you have a concern about any of these policies or witness or experience someone violating The Sanctum’s Code of Conduct, please speak to a staff member.
